OUTDOORS

Walk along the Schuykill River- Spring Garden

Walk, bike or picnic along the Schuykill River. The most accessible entrance is around the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art. There are also bike and skate rentals there next to the public bathrooms.

Elfrethʻs Alley- 126 Elfreth’s Alley- Old City

The nation’s oldest continuously inhabited residential street, no fee. just go & walk and read the placards, Alex saw a ghost here, just being casual beside a street lamp. So thereʻs that.

Delaware River Walk - Old City & Fishtown

Walk or bike along the Delaware River Walk.  Home to Cherry Street Pier, Spruce Street Harbor Park and a Independence Blue Cross River Rink complete with rollerskating, arcade & a ferris wheel. Also an awesome restaurant and bar on a boat Moshulu,

Wissahickon Hike (flat & maintained)- Forbidden Drive- Mt. Airy

Closest nature trails are in the Wissahickon. The easiest to navigate to is just off of Forbidden Drive. Map to Valley Green Inn for the correct parking lot. The main trail is mostly flat and maintained. There are more hilly options as side trails when you get there.  Bike friendly.

South Street Stroll - South Philly

A fun street to walk down.  Pop in to shops, galleries, The Magic Garden, bars, thrift stores, or eat a cheesesteak at Jim's (if it's open again).  Queen & Rook Game Cafe is a fun place to rent and play boardgames and it offers vegan eats.
